Gwynns Falls Elementary School is an oasis for our students. We work with local businesses and universities to form partnerships that support academic and social success for our scholars. We enrich our scholars in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM), and develop leaders who have confidence and conviction. Gwynns Falls also houses a citywide program for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Annual Review Recommendation:
On January 14, 2025, the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners voted on a set of recommendations related to this school community. The Board voted to approve a set of recommendations to close Edgewood Elementary School in June 2025, at the end of the current school year, and combine the school with Gwynns Falls Elementary School, with a smaller number of students in the Edgewood zone being reassigned to Windsor Hills Elementary/Middle School for school year 2025-26. The Edgewood building will be surplused to the city of Baltimore in summer 2025.
