Notice: The registration period for NEW students (all grade levels) seeking to enroll in Baltimore City Public Schools for SY2021-22 will open on July 1. To ensure the safety of our families and staff, City Schools will be utilizing an online registration system to support this enrollment process, but families retain the option of in-person registration by visiting their neighborhood (zoned) schools to complete the enrollment process. Please note that the summer transfer period for EXISTING students is tentatively scheduled to launch July 19 – August 20. Please contact with any questions/concerns.
Please note that at the elementary school level, out-of-zone enrollments and intra-district transfer requests to out-of-zone schools MUST receive prior approval by district office staff. The Office of Enrollment, Choice, and Transfers is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (10 am to 2 pm) for families. Zoned enrollments can be approved by the Enrollment Official at the neighborhood (zoned) school.
Important Dates*
May 10 – June 10: Application window for families interested in Early Admission testing to Kindergarten & First Grade
July 1: Enrollment window opens for new families entering City Schools (All grade levels, including Priority 2 Pre-K & Kindergarten families)
July 19 – August 20: Transfer window opens for families requesting consideration for intra-district transfer or out-of-zone school placement
August 30: First day of school (SY2021-22) for ALL students

How to Enroll
Find your neighborhood school
Gather and upload the required documents (see below) using the online enrollment application – accessible using a computer, tablet, or mobile device
Technology access: If unable to complete the online registration process, please fill out the traditional registration form (in English or Spanish, gather/submit the form and required documents to your neighborhood (zone) school.
Await confirmation from the school’s enrollment official. If such does not occur within 3-5 days, please request a status update from the school’s Enrollment Official or contact the Office of Enrollment, Choice, and Transfers.
Charter schools: Contact the school directly to ask about the registration process. (Note that the application deadline for most charters schools was February 3).
Out of Zone School Requests – The window to request consideration for placement outside of zoned boundaries is set to tentatively launch on July 19, 2021. Please visit the ECT office (Open MWF, 10a-2p) with the required documentation to request transfer consideration.
