Photography Student with a Camera

We’ll help you develop a strong foundation in the basics, as well as the means with which to think and talk about art. During your first two years, you’ll be introduced to a wide variety of media and techniques, as well as the dynamics of composition. As you continue, you’ll build upon those earlier skills, experiment, and discover a vehicle for personal expression.

You’ll enjoy small class sizes with instructors who are keen to help you grow as an artist. The way you will learn to think about color and composition will help you in any visual-based career. Our alumni work as animators in Hollywood; have works in major galleries and museums; lead design, branding, and advertising firms; and so much more.

Visiting Artists

We understand the best way to learn what’s really being practiced in the field today is to learn from a wide variety of working professionals. Every year, we invite multiple guest artists to the school to teach a master class, and we also take numerous field trips to museums and art galleries.

During recent school years, we have visited contemporary galleries in New York City, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. Notable alumnus Christian Siriano also returned in the 2017-18 school year to present at the Baum Symposium and lead a masterclass.
