Greetings Frederick Douglass Family and Friends,

It’s time for us to begin another successful school year.  I am looking forward to working with you and your student, guiding them towards positive goals that will impact their lives forever.  This year we will be focusing on making small changes and improving individual habits that will lead our students to their academic, social, and future goals. We want our students to make small gains daily that will add up to big positive changes and outcomes. Before the school year begins, here are some "small efforts" that will get our students off to a great start:

• Honoring all time commitments by arriving to school and class on time everyday

• Wearing your uniform with pride everyday

• Arriving ready to follow all instructions and directives given by faculty and staff with respect.

There is so much information to share and the best place for you to find much of it is on the Frederick Douglass Website.  

Some upcoming dates to keep in mind:

• August 21st (5:30 – 7:30 PM) Back to School Bash at our new location: 6900 Park Heights Avenue, 21215. The event will be featuring food, fun, the opportunity to meet staff and community partners, a DJ, and give-a-ways

• August 26th School begins at 8:00 AM. Be on-time and in uniform to start the year with success

• September (5:00 – 7:00) Back to School Night 

NEW this Fall, all parents/guardians must verify their student’s contact information online.

Help Douglass get ready for the new year by completing the Annual Student Verification Process. The Annual Student Verification Process requires you to log into Campus Portal and ensure we have the following correct information for each student:

• Phone number

• Email address 

• Mailing address

• Emergency contacts

In addition, you’ll receive immediate access to important back-to-school documents such as the annual Family Guide, Student Code of Conduct, Media Opt-Out Form, and much more. (Annual Verification Page)
