Mission

The Board of School Commissioners of the City of Baltimore directed the BPI Foundation, Inc. to seek public and private grants to establish a non-profit, tax-exempt foundation to receive such funds. The Foundation shall have the sole authority to spend the funds for the use and benefit of the School and its purposes.

The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association & Foundation work hand-in-hand to keep alumni connected to their alma mater, provide alumni and friends with ways to make contributions to support school programming, provide a variety of alumni events, support reunions, market the successes of Poly to alumni, the Baltimore community, the State of Maryland and beyond, and strive to support Poly students, faculty and administrators in their goals.

Mission Statement

The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association shall be an educational and charitable organization whose mission is to strengthen unity among alumni, to support and promote the school program of excellence and to encourage participation in the Poly community. 

Membership

All graduates and former students who have completed three or more years of scholastic work and all teachers, administrators, and other staff members who have completed three or more years of employment at the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute shall be eligible for membership. Membership is free and automatic upon graduation for a period of five years. Thereafter, membership is maintained by payment of dues.

Honorary members may be elected at the discretion of the Association at the annual dinner meeting. Honorary members so elected need not pay dues.

Programs supported by the Alumni Association:

  • Host the Annual Alumni Dinner

  • Sponsor the Annual Poly/City Golf Outing

  • Assist with Open House

  • Management of the www.bpi.edu website

  • Organize Hall of Fame Ceremony and Program

  • Sponsor of the Distinguished Alumni Program

  • Support of the After-Prom Safety Event

  • Coordination of Class Reunions
