Instructional Format

To meet CDC guidelines during the instructional day, Poly will utilize the Pathway Pod as a way to group students in the school building. This system allows for limited movement through the building while providing students interaction with other students who have similar interests as their own.

Pods

Students will be assigned to a learning pod. The learning pod will consist of 10 -12 students that will be at least 6 feet apart in a classroom. The students will follow their schedule virtually, as they remain in the classroom supervised by a teacher.

Pathway Pods

The learning pod to which a student is assigned will depend upon the pathway in which they are enrolled. The Pathway Pods will be PLTW, Ingenuity, JROTC, AP Capstone, Senior Engineering, Senior Science and the traditional course of study. If there are not enough students choosing in-person education to create a specific pathway pod, the pods may be combined.

Within the Pathway Pods

Students will further be grouped, as best as can be accommodated, with one of their teachers as the facilitator of the pod. That will ensure that students will have at least two of their classes in person every week with one of their teachers. Where possible, a student will be in a pod with two of their teachers to allow for four in person classes every week.
