MR. SAMUEL COFFEY, PRINCIPAL

Mr. Samuel Coffey, Principal

It is with great optimism and excitement that I continue as the Principal of Rosemont Elementary Middle School. I am honored to have been chosen to continue to serve such an amazing school and school community. I come to you with 23 years of experience as an educator and administrator in Baltimore City Schools. Prior to working in City Schools, I received a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport and a Masters of Science in Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University. For the past 14 years Rosemont has served as my school home, during which I have taken the journey from being the PE teacher, to Assistant Principal and now culminating with the opportunity to lead this wonderful school community.

Parents, this work is not done alone, and we will need all hands-on deck. There are several initiatives we will be rolling out that will address our most pressing concerns which are increasing the attendance rate and increasing our literacy and math proficiency. As the new school leader, I pledge to work diligently with all of you to make Rosemont a place where “we are destined for success”.

Ms. Antionette Walker, Assistant Principal

Ms. Kadian Grant, Assistant Principal

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself to the Rosemont family. My name is Kadian Grant, and I have been an educator for the last 20 years. I was hired in 2007 by Baltimore City Public Schools from the beautiful island of Jamaica, where I taught elementary education for 3 years. I began my journey in the United States at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School where I taught 4th through 6th grade math and literacy at Pimlico. I moved on to teach 4th and 5th grade math at Steuart Hill Elementary School where I was then promoted to Math Educational Associate. This opened the path for me to be hired as the Assistant Principal at Matthew A. Henson Elementary School where I have been for the last three years.

My greatest motivation is to have all students succeed. I believe it is my responsibility to ensure that students get the opportunity to receive the best education regardless of their background, experiences, or zip code. I believe that this goal can be achieved by building relationships with the parents, students, staff and the community. Together we all can make a difference. I look forward to a great year of teaching and learning here at Rosemont Elementary Middle School. Let's make this a great year!
