Commitments For Visitors to Our Schools
Our schools and learning environments must be inclusive and safe places that honor the culture, experiences, and humanity of students, families, and our community.
We welcome families and community partners to visit our schools and engage with us in promoting student success. To create a climate and culture of support for all students, we are expected to work together to address concerns and challenges related to programs and services before they become a source of conflict.
To do this, visitors to our schools and offices must commit to the following standards while on school property, at school district events, and interacting with City Schools employees, students, and families.
Standards for Visitors

Accountability |
---|
As a community, we determine the quality of our schools. We are committed to working with families and adults to engage with us about their students. That work is always welcome if it aligns with these commitments. However, adults who ultimately fail to meet these commitments may face consequences up to immediate removal, being banned from school property, or participating in school-sponsored events or prosecution. We may seek legal prosecution of individuals who threaten or physically confront staff, students, or other families. No restriction, however, will prevent a parent or guardian from working collaboratively with City Schools to meet the child’s educational needs, nor will a parent or guardian be excluded from a child’s IEP meeting.
