Due to continued high temperatures forecast for the entire week of September 5, City Schools has updated its schedule for schools without fully-functioning air conditioning. Please see below to determine your schools’ schedule. If your school is not listed, it will operate on a normal schedule.
Each school has a learning plan to support students, including those with special education or other needs, and will contact families to share details.
UPDATE: All outdoor activities, including athletics, will resume on Friday, September 8.

Grade level adjustments
- Grades 2 through 12 – Students will engage in synchronous virtual (live, at home) learning. Schools will implement their virtual learning plans and ensure students have access to devices.
- Kindergarten through first grade and students attending citywide special education programs at these sites – Students will attend school in person on an early release schedule. Their learning spaces will be moved to rooms with air conditioning, and City Schools will provide additional cooling support for those classrooms. Transportation and meals will be provided as usual. City Springs Elementary/Middle School Kindergarten and 1st-grade students will be in the building and will not be released early.
- Pre-Kindergarten - Students will engage in asynchronous virtual (at-home) learning. Early learning staff will be available virtually to support these young learners.

- Midtown Academy: Early release at 12 p.m.
- Pimlico Elementary/Middle School: Early release at 11:45 a.m.
Meals
Students who attend a school with Kindergarten or first grade can visit their regular school to get a meal since those buildings will be open.
Baltimore City College students can visit Abbottson Elementary School (1300 Gorsuch Ave) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get a meal.
Benjamin Franklin High School students can visit Curtis Bay Elementary School (4301 W Bay Ave) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get a meal.
National Academy Foundation students can visit Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (1400 Orleans St.) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get a meal.
Vanguard students can visit Furley Elementary School (5001 Sinclair Ln) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get a meal.
