Due to inclement weather today, our return to school plan will be delayed by one day. All 12-month school employees, essential employees and Health and Safety Coordinators will report today to prepare for testing on Tuesday and Wednesday and for custodians to ensure school grounds are cleared of ice and snow.
Central office is open with staff approved to work remotely.
Following is the updated timeline for our return to school plan:
Monday, Jan. 3:
- All 12 month school employees, essential employees and Health and Safety Coordinators report to prepare for testing on Tuesday and Wednesday and for custodians to ensure school grounds are cleared of ice and snow. Schools should ensure staff and hs students are notified of testing windows on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday, Jan. 4:
- High school staff: Principals and school administrators will report to work to assist Health and Safety Coordinators with administering tests to staff. Testing will be available to all staff at their schools on January 4.
- Elementary and middle school staff – Principals, school administrators and Health and Safety Coordinators will report to work to prepare for school staff testing the following day, including picking up rapid tests from Dunbar High School.
Wednesday, Jan. 5:
- High Schools: testing will be available to all HS students before students return for classes on Thursday, Jan 6.
- Elementary Schools: Rapid tests will be available to all school staff at their school. Test results will be available within 15 minutes.
Thursday, Jan. 6:
- All students return to school. Regular testing will resume when students return to school. City Schools will test as many students as possible on January 6-7.
