It's been a month full of crowning champs for City Schools teams!
Congrats to the robotics and basketball teams listed below for winning their competitions or special awards.
Robotics
The Maryland VEX IQ State Championships were held earlier this month.
Eight City Schools robotics teams qualified for the World Championships! Teams from Arlington Elementary School, Baltimore International Academy, Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School, and Baltimore Polytechnic Institute are headed to Texas in May to compete against teams from around the world! Congrats to these students and staff - we'll be cheering you on from Baltimore!
Another congrats to these teams, who won special awards during the competitions:
- Team 16245A from The Mount Washington School won the Judges Award
- Team 38636C from Arlington Elementary School won the Amaze Award
- Team 50316A from Commodore Johns Rodgers EMS won the Judges Award
- Team 5770A, the Lady Beasts from Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women won the Judges Award
- Teams A and C from Arlington Elementary School won 2nd Place for the Teamwork Challenge by a margin of only 2 points
And, congratulations to the teams who won awards at the Citywide First Lego League competition: Govans Dragon Designers, Lakeland Builders, Mount Royal Eagles, Graceland Park Lions, Holabird, and Westport Warriors. A special shout out to the Govans Dragon Designers, who won the highest award of the competition, the Champion's Award!
