Congratulations to Tina Hike-Hubbard, Chief of Communications, Engagement, and Enrollment, and Dr. Tracey Durant, Executive Director of Equity, for being honored by The Daily Record as two of Maryland’s Top 100 Women! Chief Hike-Hubbard has received this honor for a third time, inducting her into the Circle of Excellence, and Dr. Durant has received this honor twice. The awards ceremony will be held on May 9.
Maryland’s Top 100 Women recognizes high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service, and mentoring. Winners are selected by past Top 100 Women and business leaders.
Chief Hike-Hubbard and Dr. Durant are on Dr. Santelises' cabinet. Through Chief Hike-Hubbard’s leadership, City Schools has increased capacity to support schools’ ability to authentically engage our families, revised our enrollment and choice procedures to better serve families, elevated student voice, improved relationships with our partners, and much more. Dr. Durant led the team that wrote the first-ever racial equity policy in the State of Maryland that was approved by the Board in 2019. She and her team are now implementing the policy, which includes developing equity initiatives, building capacity, and providing support and trainings for staff at all levels to spur necessary actions to dismantle historic and longstanding inequity in our schools.
