Here are just a few of the good news items from this week:
Our City Schools Teacher of the Year for 2023 Jared Perry went to the White House with other Teachers of the Year.
Take a sneak peek at the choir club at Thomas Jefferson Elementary/Middle School as they hit the right notes. In the 2023-24 school year, we are investing $486,000 for the development of the Fine Arts department and $38.5 million for arts teachers.
Baltimore International Academy students on the Maryland Science Olympiad (MSO) team attended the “Build It, Study It” at Johns Hopkins where they explored different hands-on activities including learning how to replace a heart valve.
Students at Callaway Elementary School with perfect attendance in November participated in a Paint and Sip (of sparkling cider).
Fort Worthington Elementary/Middle School celebrated students by awarding Kindness Awards!
BGE held a ribbon cutting for an EV Smart Charger that was based on a sketch by a Baltimore Design School student!
Rosemont Elementary/Middle School's Kindergarten students are dreaming big for Career Day. They shared what they wanted to be and some even dressed up for the job.
Also celebrating attendance was the William S. Baer School with their first quarter attendance celebration.
Achievement Academy held a cohort meeting to review graduation requirements to ensure that students understand all they need to graduate including service-learning hours, credits, and state testing!
Fifth-grade students from Federal Hill Prep went on a trip with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to learn about the history and conservation efforts being taken to protect and revitalize the bay.
A student from Wide Angle Youth Media Baltimore Speaks Out (BSO) visited Calvin M. Rodwell Elementary/Middle School to show students animation techniques.
