The educational landscape in Baltimore shines bright as two of the city's renowned institutions, Baltimore City College and Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, secure impressive positions in the U.S. News and World Report's National School Rankings.

Baltimore City College proudly holds the No. 460 spot among 17,680 nationally ranked schools, while Baltimore Polytechnic Institute secures a commendable No. 728 ranking. Additionally, Baltimore City College clinches the eighth rank in Maryland, while Baltimore Polytechnic Institute stands at 14th place within the state.

Baltimore City College, with a storied history dating back to 1839, continues to set the standard for academic excellence and student achievement. As a result of the school’s equity work in its International Baccalaureate (IB) program, City College has adeptly shifted to number eight in the state - ranking higher than both top public IB Schools in Montgomery County. The No. 460 ranking on a national scale underscores the institution's dedication to providing students with a transformative education that equips them for success by incorporating intercultural awareness, and inquiry-based learning.

Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, known for its focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, is making its mark at the No. 728 position nationally. The school's commitment to cultivating innovative thinkers and problem solvers is evident in its ranking, reflecting its role in nurturing the next generation of STEM leaders.

The U.S. News and World Report rankings are respected for their rigorous evaluation process, encompassing factors such as academic performance, graduation rates, faculty expertise, and student outcomes. Both Baltimore City College and Baltimore Polytechnic Institute's positions highlight their perseverance in meeting and surpassing these rigorous standards.
