School might be out for the summer, but there are still great things happening every day at City Schools!
You may think not a lot happens during the summer break at City Schools, but here are some of the many great things happening this week:
- The Henderson-Hopkins community came together to create a new ground mural designed by artist Jordan Lawson. See the new artwork on WBAL's story!
- Congratulations to Armistead Gardens for being named to the 2023 list of America's Healthiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Click here to congratulate them on Facebook.
- A group of City Schools science teachers learned about teaching their students how to investigate and take action on local environmental issues thanks to Healthy Harbor's Harbor Scholars program. See great photos from the session on Twitter.
- At Patterson Park's MedReimagined Biomedical Bootcamp, students are learning the parts of the heart. They also got the chance to dissect a sheep's heart. Click here to see videos of their dissection on Facebook.
- Students from ACCE, Creative City, and Holabird Green Teams attended Vice President Kamala Harris' announcement about new investments in climate action.
- Cherry Hill hosted the Baltimore City Community Action Partnership (BCCAP). City Schools' On the Go bus was on hand to offer resources to families who attended.
- A rigorous training designed for adults? Not a problem for four Renaissance Academy seniors who recently completed the Bon Secours' Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant program!
- Poly alumnus Elek Yuhas sang the National Anthem before the July 14 Orioles game. Watch a video on Poly's Facebook page.
- Building STEPS Young Professionals Council, comprised of City Schools students, held a Tech Savvy Seniors event to help senior citizens with technology, from using email and attaching a document to sending texts with images. See photos on Building STEP's Twitter page.
