BALTIMORE CITY, MD. – Baltimore City Public Schools has earned its third consecutive unmodified - or clean – audit of its financial statements, according to a report by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, an independent firm.

In a report on January 14 to the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners and CEO Dr. Sonja Brookins Santelises, representatives of the City Schools Finance Team and CliftonLarsonAllen also noted no difficulties in performing the audit. City Schools earned clean audits during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 fiscal years.

The financial statement audits offer a clear picture of the district’s financial reporting and internal controls. This year’s reports found no deficiencies in those areas.

“The results of our audit, conducted by an independent third party, verify we are acting as good stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Dr. Santelises. “City Schools works every day to maximize every cent to provide high-quality teaching and learning. We are taking good care of our resources and, by extension, our students.”
