WHAT: Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Sonja Brookins Santelises and BGE CEO Carim Khouzami will announce a new plumbing program at Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School for the 2021-22 school year, made possible by a generous donation from BGE. Students in the program will receive hands-on training and may earn industry certification in a career that is in demand with high earning potential.  

The announcement will take place at Career Technical Education Demonstration Day, an annual event when students enrolled in City Schools' career technical education programs demonstrate their pathways. Students from about 15 high schools in over 20 pathways, including carpentry, culinary, Cisco, teacher academy, cosmetology, print ed, health, automotive and more will share what they're learning.
