A new plumbing program will be coming to Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School thanks to a generous donation by BGE. Students in the program will receive hands-on training and may earn industry certification in a career that is in demand with high earning potential.  Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Sonja Brookins Santelises and BGE CEO Carim Khouzami announced the program during the annual Career Technical Education (CTE) Demonstration Day.


“We are in the process of reimagining what CTE can and should be for our students to ensure that they graduate with viable skills and certification in high-paying industries that will support their families in the future,” said Dr. Santelises. The plumbing program begins during the 2021-22 school year.
