Congratulations to the Baltimore International Academy's (BIA) Robotics Teams for qualifying for the VEX IQ World Championships for the third year in a row. This year the teams focused on the VEX IQ STEM research project.

Despite the pandemic and remote learning, students still found a way to adjust to the circumstances, learn new things, demonstrate great teamwork, and finish two projects: the Smart Smoke Detector and the BIA Healthcare Chatbot-Oura Ring Sensor. Both projects were selected as Finalists and received automatic qualifications for the 2021 VEX World Championships. This year's competition will take place in May and for the first time will be hosted remotely.

The BIA offers both language immersion and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in Grades K-8. Students choose one of five language immersion tracks (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, or French) and become fully immersed in their target language for their entire career at BIA. By the end of the program, students are bilingual and bi-literate in both English and their chosen target language.
