March 9, 2021 For Immediate Release

After a successful return to optional in-person learning for some students, Baltimore City Public Schools has finalized plans for the return of pre-kindergarten, middle grades students, and the remaining high school grades.

Students in pre-kindergarten and grades 6-8 will begin Monday, April 12. Students in grades 10-11 will begin Monday, April 19.

As previously announced, students in grades 3-5 and grade 9 will begin on Monday, March 15. Seniors will begin on Monday, April 12.

By phasing in our return to in-person learning, we are ensuring that buildings and staff members are prepared to bring students back safely.

Families may decide whether to participate in in-person learning or remain in virtual learning. For charter and contract schools, visit our charter schools page to see which schools will be opting in to each phase of in-person learning, and visit your school’s website to review specific in-person learning plans.

SPRING BREAK UPDATE

Spring break for all traditional schools is Monday, March 29 through Monday, April 5.

In-person learning will resume Monday, April 12. Families attending schools that operate on a special calendar should check with their school.
