Today, at the direction of the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), all public schools in the state, including Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools), will remain closed through Friday, April 24. Despite the current situation, City Schools remains committed to educating our students beyond the four walls of a classroom.
From Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 3, families may download learning packets from our website or pick them up at one of the 18 City Schools meal sites. A full the list of meal sites may be found on our website at https://www.baltimorecityschools.org/meal-sites.
We are putting in place distance-based learning methods to ensure each of our students has access to a standards-aligned experience. Beginning March 30, principals and teachers will engage in professional development while continuing to develop student work. On Monday, April 6, students will still engage in learning based on their needs.
Though these are challenging times, we are not succumbing to our circumstances. We are working to maximize learning time and support children and families.
