- Moravia Judy Center celebrated Valentine’s Day by giving families the book, “Ten Little Valentines” to read aloud with their child.
- Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, District 10, returned to Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle School to follow up with seventh-grade students she had met with in December regarding their community concerns. She awarded them certificates for their community-driven work and addressed their concerns, revealing forthcoming changes to the Cherry Hill community due to their advocacy.
- Over 100 students and families joined Charles Carroll Barrister Elementary School for their first STEAM Night.
- Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys has a Junior Achievement Company Program for students. Students learned how to manage their own businesses and discovered real-life skills from real business owners. At a recent meeting, owners from Herman’s Discount (who supply many City Schools uniforms) spoke to the students about running a business.
- Nizar Al-Khairallah, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States of America, visited Baltimore International Academy. He toured the school, visited the Arabic immersion classrooms, and shared about Iraqi culture and language. He brought gifts for all the Arabic immersion students, symbolizing the strong ties between nations.
- Arts Every Day’s 2024 10X10 Exhibit at The Peale Museum features 300 works of art from Baltimore City Public School students. Learn more at the 10x10 Exhibit website.
- Liberty Elementary celebrated a win for their first basketball game of the season! City Schools is committed to the importance of extracurricular activities like sports to keep students active and interested in learning.
- Clay Hill Public Charter third-grade students have been learning about frogs and their adaptations for survival. To show their knowledge they have been writing paragraphs, creating dioramas, and designing Pokémon-style cards!
- New Song Academy students traveled to Annapolis to advocate for charter schools in Maryland. They also toured the State House and met with State senators and delegates.
- City Schools outlined its efforts to expand fine arts offerings and improve student outcomes during a presentation to the Board of School Commissioners. Read more about this on our website.
