At the recent Chesapeake School Public Relations Association (CHESPRA) awards ceremony, the Office of Communications earned accolades across multiple categories for its programs, videos, website, newsletter, and social media content celebrating our collective work at City Schools. The scoring rubric for the CHESPRA awards assigned ratings based on performance, with "Excellence" awarded to entries scoring 95-100, "Distinction" for scores between 90-94, and "Honorable Mention" for scores 80-89.
City Schools' recently migrated website earned an Award of Excellence, achieving a perfect score of 100. Similarly, the Web Publication/ E-Newsletter category recognized our Progress Reports series with another Award of Excellence and a score of 100. While our website recently won a National School Communication Award of Excellence, we are overjoyed to be commended by our local educational colleagues.
City Schools' Graduation Rally won the Award of Excellence in the Special Event Category. Several video productions were recognized, including Awards of Distinction for Heart of America: Ravens Partnership Brings New Life to Historic Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Elementary and Rock & Enroll in City Schools Pre-K and K! as well as Governor Wes Moore Signs Climate Executive Order at Henderson Hopkins earned an Honorable Mention in the same category.
Social media efforts were also recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Social Media category for CitySchoolsAttenDANCE: Energizing Attendance through Social Media and Student Engagement.
