During Maryland's Gifted and Talented Education Month, we proudly celebrate our schools that earned the prestigious Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) designation by the Maryland State Department of Education this year (https://news.maryland.gov/msde/gifted-and-talented-programs/). Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) is a program that recognizes Maryland public schools that offer exceptional gifted and talented education programs. 

First-time honorees:
Charles Carroll Barrister Elementary School
James McHenry Elementary/Middle School

Repeat winners:
Glenmount Elementary/Middle School (2nd designation)
North Bend Elementary/Middle School (2nd designation)
Roland Park Elementary/Middle School (3rd designation)

These schools have demonstrated outstanding commitment to challenging and supporting our gifted learners. We’re so proud of their hard work in fostering excellence! All EGATE schools will be honored on Saturday, February 22, 2025, during an awards ceremony at Severn Run High School in Severn. City Schools is committed to equity and excellence in identifying and serving our gifted and advanced learners, including those with learning challenges. All of our schools are required to support their gifted and advanced learners – GAL students.
