Let's celebrate our remarkable STEM educators in Baltimore! The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are now open for nominations and applications. Anyone can nominate a teacher. Awardees receive a Presidential certificate, a trip to D.C., $10,000, and join a national network of outstanding educators. Nominate a teacher by January 8, 2024, or teachers can apply directly at http://www.paemst.nsf.gov/.

Due to a power outage impacting the area, Edmondson-Westside High School, Thomas Jefferson Elementary/Middle, and Mary E Rodman Elementary will be released at 2 p.m. today. All after-school activities and athletics are canceled at these schools. Transportation will arrive soon, and staff will wait with students until they are picked up. Also, staff will wait with students until they are picked up by regular MTA buses. Thank you for your understanding.

City Schools is hosting events this fall to help students become more successful in math! We will host The Great Math Scavenger Hunt on December 19th, 2023, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Maryland Science Center. This is a hands-on learning event organized by grade bands (kindergarten through 8th grade) to support families in seeing and learning about their child’s milestones for the school year.
