About Baltimore City College
Baltimore City College is the nation’s third oldest public high school. As an International Baccalaureate World School, City College offers a rigorous college-preparatory program that incorporates communication, intercultural awareness, and inquiry-based learning. Our school motto, Palmam Qui Meruit Ferat (“Honor to the one who earns it”), reflects our commitment to hard work and excellence. Graduates include Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, and Emmy Award winners; elected officials; professional athletes; and prominent artists. Please note that these high schools will be undergoing renovation in the coming years. During renovation, students will move into swing space: Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Baltimore City College, Frederick Douglass High School, and Western Senior High School
