Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School Campus recently underwent a remarkable transformation, thanks to the collaborative efforts of teachers, parents, students, and community partners during the Green Apple Day of Service. The event saw a vibrant synergy as everyone came together to beautify the campus, resulting in several noteworthy accomplishments.
One of the standout achievements of the day was the rejuvenation of the playgrounds through the re-mulching initiative. Over 1000lbs of mulch was meticulously spread across two playgrounds, breathing new life into the space and providing students with a fresh and inviting environment for play and recreation.
Furthermore, the spirit of collaboration was evident in the construction projects undertaken by two esteemed community partners, The Circle of Brothers and the SmokeBrovas of Baltimore. Working hand in hand, they successfully completed the construction of a buddy bench and a thunderwall. These additions not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the campus but also promote inclusivity and positive social interactions among students.
Additionally, the dedication of David, a representative from our corporate partner Aaron's, was truly commendable. David took on the mission to clear the campus of all unwanted trash and debris, leaving behind a pristine environment that fosters a conducive atmosphere for learning and growth.
The Green Apple Day of Service exemplified the power of collective action and community engagement in creating positive change. Through their hard work and dedication, participants have not only beautified the Garrett Heights campus but have also instilled a sense of pride and ownership in all those involved. As we admire the results of our labor, let us continue to nurture and cherish our school community, knowing that together, we can accomplish great things.
