A Big Thank You to Coppin State University Basketball Team
On behalf of the GHEMS middle school basketball team, we'd like to extend a huge thank you to Coach Larry Stewart and the Coppin State University basketball team for visiting us! It was an unforgettable experience for our students, as they had the incredible opportunity to learn about the life of a college basketball player straight from the CSU team.
Coach Stewart, along with players Toby Nnadozie, Aa'Reyon Munir-Jones, Derrius Ward, Pete Oduro, and Camaren Sparrow, took the time to share their personal journeys of what it means to be a student-athlete. CSU players, Nnadozie and Sparrow are both products of Baltimore city public schools. Our students were inspired by the stories of hard work, dedication, and perseverance that led each player to become part of the Coppin State Eagles. The discussion gave our students a deeper understanding of the commitment it takes to balance academics and athletics at the college level.
The interaction was truly meaningful, and our students enjoyed engaging with the players, asking questions, and hearing about the paths they’ve taken to reach their goals. We are already looking forward to the next opportunity to connect with Coppin State basketball!
A special thank you to Coach Larry Stewart and the entire Coppin Athletics team for making this valuable experience possible. To learn more about CSU basketball and keep up with the team's exciting season, be sure to visit their website at Coppin State Men's Basketball.
We can’t wait for the next time we get to meet! Go Eagles!
