Similar to previous years, traditional schools and the district office will close on Fridays for part of the summer.
Summer Fridays will start the work week beginning June 24 and end on July 26. Buildings will be closed on June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, and July 26. All schools and offices will also be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth and Thursday, July 4, to observe Independence Day. Beginning the work week of July 29, the district will resume operations five days a week.
Summer programs in traditional schools will operate only on Mondays through Thursdays. For any charter/contract schools on an approved alternative calendar, district staff will work with the school to determine what adjustments, if any, may need to be made.
All 12-month staff* assigned to traditional schools and the district office will work an adjusted schedule between June 24 and July 26.
Hourly employees who typically work a set number of hours per week will need to adjust their schedules to complete those same hours of work within the four-day schedule.
Salaried employees will be responsible for completing the same work as usual within the four-day schedule. Prior to the end of the school year, your supervisor will work with you on adjustments to your work schedule to meet these requirements and ensure that any tasks that would have been completed on Fridays are completed earlier in the week.
*There are a few small teams whose summer-related work will need to continue as normal. These employees will be notified by their supervisor this month and provided with details on alternate scheduling.
We’ll share additional details about time entry and other logistical information over the next couple of weeks.
