About Middle Alternative Programs
Our mission is to serve all students enrolled at the Elementary/Middle Alternative Programs with high-quality academic instruction and assessments; behavior intervention & management; social-emotional; clinical & community supports. Our vision is to inspire urban students to learn coping and decision-making skills that will enable them to improve their social, behavioral, and academic growth in Baltimore City Public Schools.

Meet Principal LaWanda R. Wilson
A native Baltimorean. Principal Wilson is a proud alum of the City College Knights, Coppin Eagles, Towson Tigers and Morgan Bears! Principal Wilson has been a dedicated Baltimore City Public Schools’ employee for the past twenty-nine years. In addition to classroom experience, Ms. Wilson has been a principal on every level (elementary, middle, and high school). This is her first year here as the principal at MAPS.
