Mission Moment

The Collective Voices/Las Voces Colectivas

Patterson students voiced the need to come together with peers from other local high schools to discuss topics such as safety, wholeness, resources and overall student support offered city-wide. NAF and Digital Harbor accepted the invite.

The gathering was hosted at the Baltimore Unity Hall, and facilitated by The Movement Team and BCPS's Family and Community Engagement Office. Each school brought their Principals, several teachers, and Y representatives were present.

Students were engaged in multiple activities and breakout sessions where conversations about the changes and spaces they would like to see in their schools were promoted. There was a virtual reality

exercise that allowed students to see the world through the eyes of someone in another country, which really gave space to see their needs from a new perspective.

In the end, Patterson was awarded $4,000 to make one of their dream projects come true!
