Curriculum Programs:

English Language Arts:

Wit & Wisdom (K-5)

Wit & Wisdom® is a full English language arts program for grades K–8 that helps students become strong readers, writers, and communicators. Students read fiction and nonfiction books, view art, videos, and photos that spark curiosity. They explore topics like the senses, outer space, and the Great Depression. By working with these materials, students improve their ability to read complex texts and write and speak effectively.

Mathematics:

Eureka Math

Eureka Math is designed to help students think about math conceptually, not just remember answers to a test. It encourages students to use mental strategies to solve problems and focus on the process instead of the answer. The curriculum includes digital interactives, open-ended lessons, student-led groups, and real-world examples.

Acaletics

The ACALETICS method in math teaches students that practicing like athletes do is key to being a good student. It's a great tool for reviewing basic math skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, regrouping, and converting fractions to percent. The program includes regular timed tests covering number sense, measurement, geometry, algebraic thinking, and data analysis and probability, helping students master these essential math skills.

Science:

SABES

SABES is a STEM program in Baltimore elementary schools. It includes 24 STEM units, with eight units per grade level. It covers life sciences, physical sciences, or earth and space sciences. SABES integrates science, technology, engineering, math, and literacy. Students investigate science concepts and draw their own conclusions. It involves hands-on activities, starts with a fiction story, uses nonfiction texts, and follows the 5E Learning Cycle Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate). Each unit ends with an engineering design challenge, making STEM learning enjoyable!

Social Studies:

Studies Weekly

Studies Weekly is a program teaching Maryland Social Studies standards organized thematically to the strands of civics and government, geography, economics, and history to PreK-5th grade students. It's fun with periodicals and online tools, easy for everyone to use. It helps with reading and writing and fits different learning styles.

DBQ

The DBQ has short questions and an essay that uses documents. Each DBQ gives a theme and context, guiding students through documents with scaffold questions. These set up students to build a good answer for essay questions.
