The Roland Park after-school theater program mounts three productions per year: two for middle school students and one for elementary students. Cast members are selected by audition. Students who volunteer for the middle school tech. crew run the lights and sounds for the shows as well as manage wardrobe, properties, and set changes. Additionally, middle schoolers who work tech. for the elementary play earn service learning hours. Each year, we invite our elementary schools to attend student matinees of our spring musical, offering the experience of live theatre to a wide audience within BCPS.

Our theatrical productions give student a creative outlet for self-expression. Our goal is to teach children that theatre requires hard work, cooperation, and commitment, but that the result is a finished product which can be enjoyed by the whole student community.
