About Our School
Thomas Jefferson Elementary Middle school is an official Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) School, an awards program to recognize PK-12 Maryland Public Schools with gifted and talented education that are aligned with Maryland's Criteria for Excellence. We are also partnered with Young Audiences as an official Arts Integration School to provide educational arts assemblies, workshops, residencies, and teacher professional development programs. As an official City Schools Blueprint Intensive Learning Site for Social and Emotional Learning, we strive to support student needs with their day to day challenges using strategies directly aligned with the CASEL framework. Our students are encouraged to make positive decisions based on their understanding of Self-Awareness, Self- Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making. Thomas Jefferson has been recognized by the State of Maryland with the Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) Award.
