Dear Western Family,
As we approach the end of the academic year, it's crucial to ensure that our final exams are conducted in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Baltimore City Public Schools. Final exams will take place from June 7th- June 12th.
To streamline the process and maintain consistency across all classes, please take note of the following directives regarding final exams:
Optional Exams: Final exams are optional for all classes. If a teacher chooses not to administer an exam, they will plan an educational activity or lesson for that day to ensure the productive use of class time.
Full Day Schedule: Final exam days will be treated as full days for both staff and students. This means that regular class schedules will be maintained, with classes running for the entire duration of the day. We will follow our regular class schedule.
Extended Time Accommodations: Students with extended time accommodations will be accommodated accordingly. They may utilize a makeup day to receive their additional time if needed.
Preparation and Communication: It is important that students are aware of the expectations for final exam days well in advance. Clear communication about whether an exam will be administered or if alternative educational activities will take place is essential for smooth proceedings.
Flexibility and Support: Recognize the diversity of learning needs among students and be prepared to offer support and flexibility as necessary. Final exam periods can be stressful for many students, so creating a supportive and accommodating environment is crucial.
Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. By working together, we can ensure a smooth and productive conclusion to the academic year for all our students. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out.
