AG After-School Programming

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

   R. Collier

The AG Athletics Department is proud to offer a wide variety of programs for students across the elementary and middle school grade levels. Our Athletic Director, Coach Alonso, has worked at AG for 16 years to build a successful program.

"I played soccer in elementary & middle school, but transitioned to football in high school due to my size and athletic ability. I also threw shot put and discus for Towson High School. In my freshman year of college at Salisbury University, I cheerleaded as I was no longer able to play football, but had become accustomed to being a 3-sport athlete and wasn't sure what to do with all the extra time.  While I love to be active and play sports, I don't care much to watch sports except the games my 2 children play, but the teams I cheer for are the Ravens (NFL), Orioles (MLB), & RC Celta de Vigo (La Liga).

I became a PE teacher and a coach as I experienced what a healthy lifestyle could do and the benefits of being on a team.  In my 16 years at AG I have coached track & field, soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, Special Olympics (bowling, speed skating, alpine skiing, & track), and bocce. "

"I love being able to coach my students and hope that they not only grow as a player but as a person becoming the best version of themselves."

"Do activities you're passionate about - which make your heart and soul feel perky - including things like working out, cooking, painting, writing, yoga, hiking, walking, swimming, being in nature, being around art, or reading inspiring books."
