Literacy Curriculum

Wit and Wisdom

Wit and Wisdom is our core curriculum for students in grades K-5. There are four modules implemented each year. Each module focuses on a specific topic to foster vocabulary development, background knowledge, and writing skills. Essential topics will occur again throughout the K-8 curriculum to strengthen and deepen student content knowledge.

Fundations

In grades K-3, our teachers use Fundations which is a research based multi-sensory systematic language program. Fundations makes learning to read  fun for students. Students receive instruction in essential foundational skills including: phonemic awareness, phonics/ word study, high frequency word study, reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, handwriting, and spelling.

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness

The Heggerty Curriculum is used in grades K-2. There are 35 weeks of daily lesson plans that support student development in eight phonemic awareness skills as well as letter sound recognition and language awareness. Each lesson takes approximately 10-12 minutes to complete and be used during whole groups instruction as well as small group instruction.

Math Curriculum

Eureka Math

K-5 utilizes Eureka Math as the core mathematics curriculum. Eureka Math is a comprehensive curriculum comprised of several modules that align to mathematical progressions from PreK through grade 12. Teachers receive in-depth professional development, curriculum resources, and support materials to build their practice in providing high-quality math instruction for all learners.
