Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration each year from September 15th to October 15th celebrating the wide variety of identities, cultural experiences, traditions, and lives of people from all over the Spanish-speaking world.

Armistead Gardens is excited to announce our array of celebrations taking place!

Monday September 16th - Wear Your Heritage Day

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear a shirt, jersey, or outfit that celebrates their connection to Hispanic Heritage

Friday October 4th - Annual Hispanic Heritage Evening Showcase

  • From 5-7pm in our gym, AG will have food, music, dancing, displays, and more! Please join our celebration! To sign up to support and/or bring food, reach out to Ms. Kassandra or Ms. Montenegro!

Friday October 11th - Hispanic Heritage Neighborhood Parade

  • At school, students and staff will join in a short parade around the neighborhood celebrating Hispanic cultures. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up in whatever outfits, shirts, hats, and more that connect to Hispanic cultures from around the world.

Friday October 18th - Family Movie Night: Coco

  • As Hispanic Heritage Month's ending celebration, families are invited to come to the school from 5-7:30 to lay out in the cafeteria and watch Coco. The event is free. The school will sell concessions (popcorn, candy, soda, chips, and more) to benefit the Student Activities Fund.

Saturday October 19th - The Annual Fall Market

  • Please join AG in celebrating community entrepreneurs! In the gym from 2-5pm, vendors of all kinds will set up and sell their goods! We'll have food, desserts, art, handmade clothing, upcycled and resale clothing, and more!

Ongoing at the school, we'll have announcements and stories shared across the school celebrating the contributions of Hispanic people throughout history.
