Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School tailors instruction to meet the individual needs of all learners and provides a rigorous curriculum with targeted intervention and enrichment. We work to provide a safe and orderly environment by maintaining effective partnerships among schools, homes, and communities.

Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School’s mission is to tailor our instruction to meet the individual needs of our differentiated learners by providing a rigorous curriculum with targeted intervention and enrichment. The effective use of individualized technology and exposure to cultural arts will enhance learning. Our goal is to facilitate a safe and orderly environment by maintaining an effective partnership among school, home and the community.

Dress Down Fridays (College Day)

Students will not be required to wear their school uniforms. We encourage all students and staff to wear a College or University shirt.

School Family and Community Council


The Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School Family and Community Council (SFCC) meets bimonthly during the school year to discuss and develop plans to improve academic achievement, student attendance, and school climate, explore ways to enrich family and community engagement, and to develop programs and initiatives that will help our school reach its greatest potential.

Anyone involved in our school is encouraged to join the SFCC. SFCC consists of Co-chairs, the school Principal, the Assistant Principal, Baltimore Teacher Union representative, school staff, community partners, parents and family members, and students.
